Mary Ellen Ensign

Mary Ellen is the CourseWorkBooks video instructor for Algebra II.

She earned a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Delaware, where she graduated Cum Laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She then earned an M.S.Ed from SUNY Cortland and has taken additional graduate courses through Penn State World Campus.

Mary Ellen holds permanent NYS certification in grade 7-12 Math. She started her teaching career at Marathon Central School (Marathon, NY) as an Academic Intervention Services provider for grades 7-12, then became an Algebra teacher at Cortland Jr-Sr High School (Cortland, NY). Since 2007, she has taught at Tompkins Cortland Community College (Dryden, NY) where she is a tenured, fully-promoted Math professor. At the college level she has taught Pre-Algebra, Beginning Algebra, College Algebra, Quantitative Reasoning, Statistics, and Mathematics for Elementary Teachers I and II.

Outside of work, Mary Ellen likes to read, play violin, and spend time outside. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her twin daughters.
